The Festive Food And Drinks You Need To Try This Year

As soon as Halloween is over and the Christmas season is slowly starting to begin, all the restaurants and coffee shops start to release their Christmas Menu. I am such a massive fan of trying all the Christmas specials and I thought I would share a few I have tried this year that I am loving.

GBK’s The Holy Smoke

A smoked beef patty with fried camembert, truffle mayo, onion jam and baby spinach served in a sesame seed bun, yess please. The holy smoke is the best festive treat this holiday season. Me and my friends went for a christmas meal before we all head home for Christmas, so of course we had to go to GBK as I wanted to put it to the test after seeing it advertised on twitter. It was honestly AMAZING!!!

Starbucks Salted Caramel Brownie Hot Chocolate

The day the Christmas drinks landed in Starbucks me and Ben had to try them. I went for the Salted Caramel Brownie Hot Chocolate, and I have never looked back since. I have had copious amounts and believe me when I say it’s so good. It’s not at all sickly like a lot of chocolatey hot drinks can be, but has such a sweet taste. I think it may be my new favourite hot chocolate and I hope Starbucks bring it back again.

Co-Ops Pigs in Blankets Crackers

Who doesn’t love pigs in blankets? When I saw these in my local coop I just had to buy them! One of my favourite things about Christmas is eating all the pigs in blankets, last year I bought the pigs in blankets crisps from Aldi, which were sooo good, so I knew these crackers would be just as good. They literally taste exactly like Pigs in Blankets, I love them!

Maltesers Reindeer Mcflurry

I really wish I had a better photo of this, as you can see it’s taken from my Instagram Story from the day I first tried it. I work at Mcdonald’s part time alongside Uni, so as soon as I knew this was being released I couldn’t wait to try it. The day this ice-cream came out I was working, so of course I had to try it on my break. I am obsessed, it’s amazing!! I have had many more since on my break. I would say the only thing I am little disappointed by is that they don’t have many reindeer in with the clusters. However, I can overlook this and I hope they release this again next year.

What festive food and drinks have you been loving this year? I still need to try the Chicken Big Tasty from work and I also want to try a Gingerbread Hot Chocolate.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I had one of those McFlurrys a couple days ago!! I couldn’t resist. I want to try the Starbucks drink too. Costa is closer to me here though, and the hazelnut praline hot chocolate is amazing for me – although the last time I ordered it they gave me a latte by mistake 😦 x

  2. I love all of the festive drinks that the major coffee chains bring out during the holidays. I tried a salted orange latte the other day at Costa and whilst it was nice, it was also sickly sweet and I definitely did not need a medium. I have yet to try the chocolate brownie hot chocolate but it is definitely on the list. Love gingerbread. xx
