August Favourites 2018

It feels like it’s been a while since I did a favourites post, as I didn’t do one last month. This summer it’s been had to pick out favourites, as I haven’t really tried many new products but just gone back to old favourites. However, I managed to pick a few things I have really been loving.

Feather & Down Pillow Spray

Due to the lighter nights in the Summer and this heat wave we have had, it’s been even harder to sleep. I like total darkness, as the slightest bit of light annoys me when I am trying to sleep. As much as I love the lighter nights it doesn’t make sleeping easy. I end up going to bed so late and waking up very early. I have been using this pillow spray to help knock me into a deep sleep, so I am not tossing and turning for hours on end. I absolutely love the smell of this, it’s lavender scented but isn’t too strong or overpowering. It helps to soothe me before heading to bed, with just a few spritz’s on my pillow and around the room. It’s also only £6 in Boots and they usually have sets for a great price with other products in their range (I also have their Bath and Shower products). I have been using this alongside the This Works set from one of my recent posts, and it’s really helped me sleep better.

Arbonne Intensive Blemish Calming Lotion

I suffered from really bad acne in my teen years and still today I get the occasional flare up and monstrous spots covering my face. I have tried so many spot treatment products over the years, but I have to say that I think the Arbonne Intensive Blemish Calming Lotion may be my favourite. I apply a pea sized amount onto the affected area and within a day the spot has began to dry up and shrunk in size. It honestly is amazing how fast it works and how much of a difference it makes. As it dries up your skin to get rid of the spots, you will be left with a few dry patches but it’s nothing major and nothing a moisturiser can’t fix. I love love love this product and it has been my life saver recently.

Urban Decay Setting Spray- Travel Size

I love the Urban Decay setting sprays, they are my favourites in the beauty industry and I recommend them to everyone. I have talked about them so much on my blog and I am sure you have probably heard how amazing they are. They have been a life saver for me this Summer through this heatwave and have kept my makeup looking flawless all day long. I don’t know what I would do without this product in my life.

Tresemme Biotin Repair Prime Spray

My hair goes through a lot on a daily basis, so I need products that are gonna save my dry ends. I get quite oily roots, but dry ends so I love using products that cater to this. As we have had such great weather this summer my hair has been more drier than normal, despite all the hair dye and use of straighteners. This has meant I have been using this Tresemme hair repair and protection spray, a lot to protect my hair. I use it just before drying my hair and it has left my hair feeling much stronger and silky. It’s great.

Sleek Matte Me Liquid Lipstick- Birthday Suit

If you know me, then you will know I love a liquid lipstick. I have tried so many different ones from the likes of Rimmel, Kat Von D and Lime Crime, so I know what works and what doesn’t. This month I have been reaching for the Sleek Matte Me liquid lipstick in Birthday Suit. It’s a beaut pink/nude shade that feels so creamy and dries down matte instantly. It lasts pretty well on the lips without having to constantly re-apply. It can be a little drying, but this doesn’t start to really take affect until the end of the day. I have been loving it, so it’s been my go to this month.

I hope you enjoyed my favourites this month. It’s clear I have been reaching for products to battle this heatwave we have had (can I mention the heatwave anymore in this post?). What have been your favourites this Summer?

Thanks for reading!

  1. I completely agree with you about the Urban Decay All Nighter spray it does an amazing job I’ve never tried a setting spray that even comes close to as good as that one! I’m so glad you like the Sleek liquid lipsticks, I had quite a few of them but I can’t use them anymore as they’re way too drying for me which is a shame because they have some great shades!
