As you may have seen if you read my Rome Travel Diaries post I visited my first ever Sephora. Of course I couldn’t leave without treating myself and Ben being the best boyfriend ever bought me a few bits also.
With this being my first Sephora experience I was shocked by the prices, I am not sure whether it’s the same at every Sephora or just the ones in Rome, but the exchange rate was crazy. For this reason I only went for products which would have been worth the money. For example I was gonna buy my beloved Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, however it was 33 euros which works out at around £29, yet I can buy it in the UK for £24. Despite this I still purchased items I wanted and got the chance to try 4 new brands I haven’t yet tried before.
Ben bought me this foundation as a gift for my birthday. I knew I wanted to try this when it first came out, especially after all the great reviews. However, with my nearest Harvey Nichols being over an hour away, I could never get colour tested and I didn’t want to risk buying the wrong shade. So when I walked over to the stand and a lovely assistant from the Sephora store came sprinting over asking me if I wanted to get colour matched, I jumped at the chance. She chose 2 of the lightest shades to see which would suit me best and to my surprise the lightest shade was too light, I was shocked let me tell you. I went for the shade 110, which is the 2nd lightest in the collection. As Ben bought this as a gift for my birthday, he wouldn’t let me have it until the day arrived, so I haven’t had a chance to test it out yet. However, I am sure there will be a review on my thoughts once I have properly tried it. So stay tuned!
I bought my sister one of the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks for her birthday last year and she has been raving about it since, I just knew I had to try them for myself. When I saw the Kat Von D stand I went over and started to have a look at the shade range. My eyes instantly drew to Ludwig as it’s such a gorgeous nude/pink shade, which is right up my street. Me and Ben both searched for ages to find the lipstick within the huge box full of them, but we had no luck. I thought we were never gonna find it, until the lovely assistant who helped shade match me came over as she us struggling. She searched the bottom drawers and thankfully she found one. I was so pleased. I am still yet to try this, as I have resisted the urge ever since we came back from Rome. However, I did swatch the shade on my hand in the store and boy was it a bugger to remove. This makes me think that the lasting power is going to be great.
After hearing every man and his dog talk about this product, I finally have it to put to the test myself and see if it lives up to it’s almighty claims. The Pixi Glow Tonic is profoundly knowing for evening out your skin tone, exfoliating any problems areas and hydrating your skin. I love a good toner and I have tried my fair few from the likes of Simple and even Primark, so I know what works and what doesn’t. I can’t wait to put this to the test and see if it lives up to my expectations.
Can you really go to Sephora without purchasing a face mask? I went for both Pineapple face mask which claims to perfect your pores and moisturise your skin and the Algae face mask which is meant to purifying and detoxifying the skin. I can’t wait to try these and I am so ready for a pamper night to see how they work on my skin.
So there you have it my first ever Sephora Haul. If I had more money I could have certainly gone wild and bought much more, but I restrained myself. Have you tried any of these products, if so what’s your thoughts?
