Rimmel Wonderfully Real Mascara- Is It Really Wonderful?

Whenever I purchase a mascara I tend to reach for ones that include volume and length, as that’s what I really need and look for from any mascara. So when I received the Rimmel Wonderfully Real Mascara in my latest Voxbox, I couldn’t wait to see how it compared to my favourite mascaras and if it would replace my current go to.

In terms of packaging, I love the pink bold font against the black, it looks very professional and sleek. The wand is long and tapered with lots of small bristles that grab each and every lash. However, they may just be a little too small for some people, yet for me it wasn’t a major problem as I have quite short lashes.

In terms of length I was pleasantly surprised, as I noticed that it made my lashes look much longer and added an almost fluttery effect to them. In terms of volume this mascara packs a punch, sometime a little too much as it can tend to clump but if you brush away an excess then it doesn’t happen. It makes my lashes and eyes really pop, which I was pleased with. So, on the volume front it performs really well.

However, the one thing that lets this mascara down for me was the fact that it transferred leaving black marks underneath my eyes after a while, therefore making me look like a panda. I have a feeling this is because even after a couple of hours it still feels wet on my lashes, so it’s clear this product doesn’t dry down properly. I was very disappointed.

Overall, for this reason I wouldn’t repurchase this mascara as although it adds volume and length to my lashes, it doesn’t compare to my favourites. I honestly hate the fact it leaves black marks underneath my eyes, as that is one of my pet hates with mascaras. I also feel as though it doesn’t really curl my lashes, like I want it to.

Have you tried this mascara, If so what did you think?

Thanks for reading!
