I am a lover of using micellar cleansing water to remove your makeup, so when I saw that Nivea had also jumped onto the hype I got really excited. I love Nivea as a brand and their moisturisers work incredible on my skin, as they don’t agitate it but leave it feel super soft. So, I thought this micellar would be just as good as their other products but boy was I wrong.
Nivea claims this micellar water to be sensitive, yet every time I use it my face doesn’t stop stinging and tends to go all red. For someone who has sensitive skin, this wasn’t a good sign after the first use. However, I did give it the benefit of the doubt as I thought maybe it just stings the first time you use it, yet I was again wrong indeed. After 1 week my face was still stinging every single time I used it and it got to the point in which I had got sick of it. I was so disappointed!
As for removing makeup this cleanser does a fair job, yet it does take a lot of cleanser to remove your makeup which also means a lot of cotton wool pads. It makes the whole process lengthy and difficult and you are still left with traces of makeup on certain areas of your face. It isn’t the worst as it does remove 90% of your makeup, but it isn’t the best.
I really wanted to love this cleanser especially because I love Nivea as a brand but unfortunately it just didn’t cut it for me. Maybe I just got a bad batch from a bunch or maybe this product just isn’t right for my skin. It’s annoying when a product doesn’t meet your expectations, but it’s always interesting to see what works and what doesn’t.
Have you tried the Nivea Micellar Water?
