Over the last few weeks I have purchased some new makeup from both the drugstore and Too Faced. I have been super excited to try them all, so I thought I would share my first impressions on each of these products.
L’Oréal Infallible Mattifying Primer
When I first placed this primer onto my face I was so unsure about the texture and formula, as I have never tried a gel primer like this one before. I thought it was gonna leave my skin super greasy. However, it surprised me as it felt so lightweight and soaked into my skin straight away.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation- Pearl
I have been wanting to try out this foundation for such a long time now and when I received some samples in my Too Faced order, I was desperate to try it out. I went for the colour Pearl as I thought it would suit my skin tone the best out of the 4 they had sent. When I first opened the packet, I panicked as it looked super orange and I thought I would end up looking like an Umpa Lumpa. Yet, when I applied it and blended it all out it matched my skin almost perfectly and didn’t turn me orange at all. I would certainly say its definitely medium to full coverage and applies onto the skin so nicely. I wore it for the whole day in the windy weather and boy did it not budge. I am totally in love with this foundation and I am going to have to buy the full sized version now.
Collection Lasting Perfection Colour Correcting Concealer-Lemon
As you may already know the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is one of my all time favourite concealers, so when I heard they had decided to branch out and do colour correcting ones I just had to get my hands on them. I headed to my local Superdrug, and when I got there they had almost sold out already, thankfully there was still a couple left. I decided to go for the Lemon one as this is meant to be perfect for hiding dark under eye circles , which I certainly have. It’s just as creamy and full coverage as I knew it was going to be and does a pretty great job of hiding my tired eyes, which I am very pleased about.
Too Faced Matte Chocolate Chip
When I saw that Too Faced had 25% off on their website I just had to purchase one of their eyeshadow palettes and ended up going for this beauty. The palette is absolutely adorable and smells like mini eggs, which I LOVE! The colours are an array of shades from pinks to browns, so ideal for everyday. So far I have only tried out the shades Matte Marzipan and Matte Cherry Cordial and they seemed quite pigment and blended well. I am sure a full review will be coming very soon of this palette!
Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara
I have been wanting to try out this mascara for such a long time now, as everyone seems to always rave on about how amazing it is. I ended up accidentally purchasing the waterproof version, typical me, however I am sure it will be great for the summer months. When I first applied this mascara I noticed a difference straight away to the appearance of my lashes, leaving them looking longer and more volumized. I was so pleased to how they turned out. Due to buying the waterproof version it was an absolute nightmare to remove, and the mascara stuck to my eyelashes like glue.
Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil
Recently I have been preferring to use an eyebrow pencil to fill in my eyebrows, so when I saw this one in my local Boots for only £2.99, I couldn’t pass the opportunity of trying it out. My favourite thing about this is the fact is has a spoolie on the end to help brush your eyebrows into place, which is what drew me to this product in the first place. It’s very pigmented and leaves your eyebrows looking shaped and defined instantly. I can’t wait to properly try this out!
Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick- 045
I had such high hopes for this lipstick as I have heard so many people rave about the Kate Moss lipsticks, but I was left so disappointed. Don’t get me wrong the formula is great and feels so creamy, and it lasts quite well before having to re-apply. Yet, the colour totally lets it down, I was expecting it to be a dark pink/brown however it wasn’t on me and it just looked so silly against my skin tone. This lipstick would certainly look so much better on other people but on me I just can’t get away with it.
This is the makeup look I created using all of these products.
Thanks for reading!
