The most important way to beat exam stress is by revising, I know it sounds so obvious but it really is the key in helping you remember everything and to succeeding in your exams. The best way to revise is to create a realistic timetable, that fits best around your day. Don’t over do it and remember to ensure you give yourself small breaks in between, at least 20 minutes each time. Also try mixing up your subjects each day as it ensures you won’t get bored of doing the same subject over and over again.
Another thing is finding a revision style which works best for you, whether it be creating spider diagrams/mind maps or tables, condensing all the information you have into note form or trying to memorise key points, make sure you choose the one which will help you to remember all the information you need to know for your exams.
Revising for hours on end will make you feel tired and worn out, so it’s a good idea to make sure you get plenty of rest. One way to do this is by having at least 8 hours of sleep every night and ensuring you go to sleep and wake up around about the same time every morning and night. Another thing is to just relax, why not run yourself a nice hot bubble bath and take some time to pamper yourself. Putting on a face mask will help cleanse your pores and get rid of any nasty spots which you have accumulated from all the exam stress.
Don’t fret over trying to get all As in your exams, if you are a C student then achieving a C or even a B is amazing. There can be so much pressure from others to try and achieve A/A*s but it’s not always about getting the highest grades, but achieving your full potential and trying your best! So, when it comes to results day, don’t feel disheartened if the person next to you has done better than you as their abilities are different to yours. Everyone has worked just as hard as you and you only get what you put in at the end of the day.
Good Luck to all of those who are approaching exam season and are working hard to reach their goals and achieve the grades they are set out to! Just remember no matter how you do in your exams, it doesn’t determine how the rest of your life plans out and there’s always a second chance in everything!
